I added a poll over on the right. It may only be a vocal minority of whiny quitters, but it feels like there are a like of ex-WoW players reading and commenting here. Or you know, writing.
Yes is yes.
No is no.
Temporarily no is anywhere from "I didn't log in this week" to "finals are approaching and I need more time." In other words, it's to separate "not playing at this moment" from "I quit"

I need a temprarily 'yes' option ;)
I still read your blog cause of your quirky writing, but I haven't played in months. signed up for a trial account with throwaway e-mail because I was feeling nostalgic... and realized that WoW no longer held any appeal to me. so yeah....
I read your blog because I find the way you write on topics more interesting and enjoyable than almost any other blogger there.
My sub officially runs out on the 23rd June and at the moment I don't really want to log on anymore, it's like, after 3 and a half years, a switch has simply flipped and I'm not all that interested in the game anymore. Nothing bad, nothing negative, I have a *lot* of time and respect for Blizzard, I just don't really want to play World of Warcraft anymore.
I don't play wow. and I don't read you at all.
I'm not playing WoW anymore. I'm doing more constructive things with my time now - for instance I just spent the entire morning listening to Supertramp :P
I'm still reading because I think you're cute ;)
I appreciate the inclusion of the "temp no" option in the poll - I did actually "quit" WoW once back in 2007, but these days my subs don't so much "quit" as "lapse".
I didn't say you're allowed to comment here! GET OUT NOW.
Looks like votes are about even between playing and not (~40% each), with about 20% temporarily no, making a clear, but not overwhelming majority somewhere in the overall no camp (or would temps better go in the yes camp? Let's manipulate statistics to fit a narrative!). Or whatever, let's say 40-40-20 and note that the parallel informal survey in the comments is all no except one temp. That seems to prove my "vocal minority of whiny quitters" theory.
Sub ran out in Feb sometime but hadn't bothered to log in since around the beginning of 2011. Cata was the end of the long slow roll downhill after WotLK for me.
I play WoW, much more now that my wife discovered her inner undead warrior and mass pleasure for massacring ppl with a large two handed axe. I work 14 hour days and only play for raiding purposes during the week. But tons on the weekends. I read your blog cause your posts interesting and most times awesome.... and you share my loathing of pinko commis.... like that Tobold guy.
I still play WoW. In fact I think I like it even more now than when I first started 3 years ago.
I don't play... temporarily... but I still write about it? Does that get me a brownie?
Quitting WoW = too mainstream.
@Tesh: No, it gets you a scolding from Nils.
@Coreus: All the cool people are not playing WoW? I guess that means it's time for vanilla again.
Great idea this poll, by the way. I cloned you ;)
