Bloggers, is 228 a lot?

I have 228 draft posts. Some are posts that I plan to post. Some are little fragmentary ideas that never got anywhere. Some I wrote and realized made no sense. Or were just plain offensive. Some got pushed back over and over as I got wrapped up in the topic of the month, only to find them weeks later, irrelevant and inaccurate.

I'm trying to delete them, but it's almost like cleaning out a cluttered attic. Maybe I'll want this one later.

Do you also have a lot of draft posts, floating around?

  1. I don't have quite that many... but I know I probably have a good 50 or so drafts.

  2. I have 3 drafts in the folder, and I think 2 of them are husband's. We will publish just about any drivel, I guess.

  3. I usually have none, I delete them or complete them when I notice them and have time to do so.

  4. I have 10 or 12 - some are almost ready to publish, some are maybes, and some will probably never see the light of day. However, I am also nowhere as prolific as you.

I think that the number of draft posts you have, while it may seem excessive, is a positive thing. I'm trying to make "starting a draft" a habit whenever I get an idea, in hopes that I will have something to work on finishing if I should run out of ideas. So I guess you could be an inspiration for me, in that way (I've got a long way to go, tho!).

And Zelmaru, I can't think of one post by you or ATT that has been drivel since I began reading your work.

  5. I have about 40 sitting in the draft state. Some are placeholders for things I want to write but have never quite gotten there. Others are posts I launched into with a full head of steam but which never quite reached fruition.

So, to me, 228 seems like a lot.

    0. Can I have some of yours?

  7. That seems like a lot to me, but the principle of having several half-baked ideas in the wings is very familiar. I'm sitting on maybe a dozen articles I've started, and easily a dozen more I've scribbled notes on paper for here and there. Then a dozen or so I'd like to do but haven't written anything about...

  8. Good news! I deleted about 140 of them. I decided that posts from BC were probably no longer relevant and there was a reason I'd ignored them for three years.

  9. I don't have any either. I've had one or two unfinished drafts saved at some point, but I can never stand to look at them for long and quickly feel the urge to either finish and publish or delete them.

  10. I tried saving my rants in drafts... Never got anything written.
    So I have 0 drafts

  11. Ideas are coming all the time. The problem is writing them down in a conconvince fashion. I don't need to conserve ideas for future use ;)
