What is the biggest killer of immersion? Bugs? Gold spammers? Addons?
Not even close.
It's the alt-tab combo. A simple keyboard gesture replaces the world of Warcraft which you are temporarily inhabiting with something entirely different. In my case it's usually a Firefox window with blogs that I'm reading or posts I'm writing.
Sure, it's no loss if you're at a loading screen or in the middle of a raid where immersion tends to be thrown out the window anyway. Imagine if you're instead riding through scenic Grizzly Hills. This is possibly the best zone ever, visually, not to mention the excellent terrain design. You're missing it!

Porn ain't gonna look at itself now is it?
@ River
That has to be one of the funniest comments I've read to date.
Thank you!
What ruins my immersion is that some of the quest text is so damn ambiguious that I cannot, for the life of me, figure out where the hell I'm supose to go to complete it.
I tried adding quest helper but again that is crap in your face all of the time. Quest Helper is such a huge addon that it ruins my screen. So I've actually found that I get more into the quest if I do try to get it at first and if I fail, then going to wowhead to figure it out.
I dont normally tab out to look at non-gaming stuff... unless I'm flying from one side of the world to the other. Guilty as charged for YouTubing "Slap Chop" videos or, in River's lonely case,... Porn ;)

Maybe it's porn with mirrors.
I've tended to find that overly specific quests hurt immersion, especially when they involve information that my character shouldn't have, such as being ordered to end the threat of this or that group, and instantly knowing the name of their mysterious leader.
I switched to dual monitors a long time ago. :P
