PSA: Oblivion 75% off Tuesday-Thursday

| Tuesday, November 15, 2011
Normally Elder Scrolls: Oblivion is $20 on Steam, which I think is worth it. Currently it is $5. That's four times worth it. That puts it at 1/12 the price of Skyrim.

Math says you should buy it and math is never wrong. Unless I forget my calculator and do it in my head. Then there are problems.

Skyrim is significantly better than Oblivion. Especially Oblivion without mods. Oblivion is still a fun game for a while, but I, for example, never finished the main story line.

There's also the deluxe edition of Oblivion for an additional $1.25 (Horse Armor! Oh, and the other DLC!), but after playing Skyrim this just isn't as much of a must-buy for me.

I caved in and bought it. I never played any of the Elder Scrolls games, so I wanted to try it out.

Actually, I played Oblivion once when it was still new. I think it was on the Playstation 2 (?), and I got it as a weekend rent deal. But it was the German version, and it was one of the worst localization I've ever seen. The voices were bad, and they had overly complicated translations, which for items didn't fit the space, so you had things like "Ch. Mai. o Str.", "Sm. Hea. Pot." etc, on almost every item. It was so bad, I never made it out of the prison you start in.

I'll give it a whirl tonight. It took about two hours to download last night, so I had not enough time to try it out in earnest.
